October 2012 SuperSPUG Recap

The 2012 SuperSPUG event was held in Fargo on October 24, 2012 at the Microsoft campus to another large audience of nearly 100 people interested in learning more about Microsoft SharePoint. With being so close to the launch of the Windows 8 platform (October 26th), the group was given a preview of Windows 8 and all the changes that can be expected to be seen. The Windows 8 demo was followed by a presentation on the powerful SharePoint search capabilities and how some of the lesser known out of the box search features can be better utilized. The morning was capped off by a peer to peer solutions exercise that allowed attendees to share some of their current business challenges and work together to develop a solution that could be implemented using SP features.

The afternoon breakout sessions let users select the topics they wanted to learn more about and included topics geared toward End Users, IT Pros and Management, and SharePoint 2013.
